Which outfil to choose for the Prince Charming?

Gentlemen, this week, Mevengreen wrote a special article just for you to help you choose your wedding suit!

We might think that choosing the groom’s suit is one of the easiest parts when it comes to organize a wedding. However, it could be more difficult than you think because of the large number of choices that is now available. But don’t worry; Mevengreen is here to help you out…

  • The classic grey or black 2-piece suit with a white shirt

If you want to keep a simple and classic look for your wedding day, the grey or black 2-piece suit and a white shirt are the perfect choices. This is your guarantee to be very elegant for your big day. Moreover, it suits any type of hair or skin colour. You cannot go wrong with it! However, if you have blue eyes, go for a navy blue jacket for instance since it will bring out you look. Finally, you can also go for Prince of Wales checks. Indeed, it brings an original touch to your suit but still guarantees you to avoid a “fashion faux pas”.

  • Turn your suit into a 3-piece

If you want to look even more elegant on your wedding day, you can add a waistcoat on your shirt. But don’t forget that this type of clothes has to be really fitted!

  • Go really formal with the morning coat!

For your wedding day, choose the morning coat with a top hat and an ascot tie for a very vintage and elegant look.

  • About the shoes

You have the choice between different types of shoes for your wedding:

-The Oxford shoes are really formal shoes that require a shoehorn. It looks good with a thin fabric suit.

-The Derby shoes are easier to put on and look very good with a bit less formal suit.

-Eventually, the College shoes are a type of shoes that looks like a moccasin. Even though it looks a bit less formal, it is still very elegant and can be worn with lightweight suits.

  • Regarding the accessories…

Tie or bow tie? You could go for a classic look with a neutral coloured tie. On the other hand, you could also express your personality if you choose a tie with bold colours or prints. The bow tie could bring a bit of a retro style to your look.

You can also wear a watch on your wedding day. However, be careful with the size and the colour since it has to match your wedding ring or your cufflinks for instance.

And don’t forget the leather belt to finish your look!

  • Mevengreen’s advice:

-The seams of your jacket should match your shoulders.

-The jacket length should reach the palms of your hands.

-You should feel comfortable in your jacket when it’s closed even though it should be fitted

-The hem of your pants must reach perfectly your shoes.

Eventually and generally speaking, you should take into consideration your wedding style and theme as well as the bride’s wedding dress to make sure you are matching everything.
