Post-wedding brunch

For the past few years, it is impossible to miss the brunch trend. It is now an important element when it comes to organize your post-wedding day event.

Even though the main characteristic of a brunch if that it is a nice and chill event, there are still some elements to take into consideration and to not forget for its organization. Mevengreen guides you today to organize a successful brunch the morning after your wedding day.

  • When and where?

It is usually possible to privatize your reception place for the whole weekend for a certain amount of money. Thus, you will be able to organize your brunch in the same place than your wedding day. If the weather is nice, go for a brunch outdoor!

If you don’t want or can’t organize your brunch in the same venue, why not doing it in one of your parents’ house?

Brunches usually take place around 11am; a good alternative for the one who didn’t sleep much the night before and for the others who won’t have to wait to much before eating.

  • The guests

Generally speaking, there will be around fifty guests at your post-wedding brunch such as your close family and friends. Indeed, this day will allow you to share nice moments with your loved-ones that you may not have seen that much during your big day.

Thus, you can put in your wedding invitations an invitation for your brunch to the people that you would like to be there.

  • What about the food?

A brunch is usually composed of different sweet and salty dishes so you have a lot of possibilities for the choice of your menu.

Regarding the organization, you can either choose the same catering service that you had on your wedding day or preparing yourself the different dishes with the help of your mom and friends for instance.

You are lacking inspiration? Mevengreen gives you a few brunch ideas:

- Pic-nic brunch: for a friendly atmosphere and if the weather is nice, organize a pic-nic! This type of brunch will not require too much time to be organized and will allow you to spend a great moment surrounded by your loved-ones.

- Garden party brunch: put up long tables and benches outdoor as well as a buffet where everyone will be able to get what they want according to their desires and tastes: croissants, sweet and salty cakes, mixed salads, everything is possible!

- Barbecue brunch:  if your wedding takes place during summer, think about a sweet buffet followed by a barbecue. In that way, you will spend a friendly and nice day with your relatives.

- Food truck brunch: it is impossible to miss the huge food truck trend during the past few years. Then, why not renting a burger food truck with pancakes and waffles for instance?

  • Don’t forget the decoration!

Even though it shouldn’t be over-the-top, the decoration of your post-wedding brunch is still important.

For example, create a country atmosphere with some red and white vichy patterns. Put up long tables and benches and why not a drink bar so your guests can get whatever drink they want.

Add some flower bouquets on the table and plates and glasses of nice colors to add some punch to your decoration.
